The last contest was won by Rickard Olsson from Swede who
posted me a nice email in reply:
"I've been following your site almost since it started and I
look it up a couple of times a week to see if something new
has happened. So today at work I browsed the CYA, while my
project was compiling I might add ;-), and I found that the
latest winner spelled his name the same way as I do. Could
it be me? I had to wait until I was home to look in my mail
mailbox. And there they were. One mail from CYA and one
from VisualASP Components. THANK YOU!
I like CYA because of the personal touch and your aim to
make the maintenance of the site as easy as possible. And
one thing that I could identify myself with is that You
seems to be a guy that has a social life too and some other
hobbies not evolving around computers.
The work on CYA is impressive and in beginning of the era
of CYA I wondered if you got any sleep at all. New
functions almost every day! Myself I'm happy if I can sneek
in one hour computer work some night a week when my wife
and two kids, 2 and 5, finally are asleep.
Keep up the good work with CYA and I'll be a fan forever.
cheers
Rickard :-D"
Thanks Rickard. CYA has truly been a great experience, and I
love that I can give prizes now as a reward. CYA.NET is
about to start the same evolution, online and in public!
Don't worry, I'll let you guys know when to look.

REMEMBER - the contest is now monthly. To re-synch, this

This contests book is a brand new one from Steven Smith of
http://ASPAlliance.com/ - I've been looking forward to this
book for some time. It was written just as I would write a
book - learning by example is my favorite method.

- It's .NET day!! Microsoft just released the official .NET
Framework SDK[1]. This is the day I've been anticipating
for a long time - now I can install it on my nice new
machine. I hadn't wanted to install the beta release on a
new computer, for obvious reasons. Now get over to MSDN
and get that 131mb download!

- When Ben Hitchcock sent me a much modified and improved
version of my Database Administration Tool[1] today it got
me thinking about my almost non-existent license[2] again.
I'd be very interested to hear your opinions on GPL and
other public domain licenses, and whether my free code[3]
should use one. I certainly don't mind giving it away
for free and others using it, but I don't want other
sites publishing my code as their own. But what about
modified code? Please, let me know your thoughts.

with $1,000 worth of prizes!
Please note that this contest is now drawn monthly, not
bi-weekly. To get in sync this contest will run until the

- <NotASP> I don't know if you remember me mentioning
Kimble.org[1] a long time ago, but it was a fascinating
site by a larger-than-life German entrepreneur. Today it
changed into something even more outrageous! You have to
see Kim Schmitz' site to believe it...</NotASP>
